FOOD CURIOUS

DELICIOUS FOOD THAT KEEPS YOU CURIOUS

Hi, my name is Marianna, I’m so happy you’re here!

I’m a self-taught plant-based chef- food is one of my biggest passions and I’m inspired by the world we live in. I’m French, of Egyptian and Syrian ethnicity, born in Greece, lived in Switzerland, the US and a decade in Jamaica where I had a restaurant too!

I’ve travelled a little all over, and my cooking is informed by sunny and delicious Mediterranean and Caribbean influences and the glory of spices from places I love and that have taught me a lot like India and countries of South East Asia.

My cuisine is a personal, hyphenated cuisine which doesn’t feel repetitive or sit in a cookie-cutter mould.

Health and nutrition is also very important to me and I work with a principle of flavor x function. Meaning: it needs to taste good and do good, neither have to be compromised!

I have a robust knowledge about edible plants because I am first and foremost, food curious. I read and research tremendously, all the time, everyday.

But I also built tangible experience in food thanks to my highly successful restaurant, but I’m also entrepreneurial and love getting people together as a previous organizer of supper clubs. I did a short stint at the prestigious Hotel de Crillon kitchens in Paris (which taught me a lot of about discipline and organization) and I can put structure to the creativity in my head as I also have a 15 year career in global marketing.

Additionally, I have catered for private events, short yoga retreats (WALKGOOD LA + True Self Centre Jamaica) and I’ve done exciting recipe development or disruptive food concepts with companies like Gold Seal Flour, Worthy Park Rum, Baker Creek and GoldFinger Estate. I’ve also helped conceptualize vegan menu options for a restaurant in Canada (which hasn’t opened yet, so I can’t say more about that!)

I’m also the author of my very first self-published cookbook: FOOD CURIOUS!

What makes me genuinely happy is sharing the never-ending beauty of nature in your kitchens and on your tables. I think food is powerful in so many ways, it connects people and nourishes our body & soul all at the same time.

If that isn’t special, I don’t know what is.

Please feel free to contact me below if you have any questions or would like to work together!
